1978 Beechcraft 95-B55 “Baron”
The first Beech model 95-55 Baron flew in February 1960. This aircraft had evolved from the Model 95 Travel Air. The twin engine Beech Baron Model 95-B55 was introduced in 1963. This aircraft was built with design refinements which included a swept vertical tail surface, 5 or 6 seat configuration and improved all-weather capability, it proved to be a great success with the flying community.
The US Army contracted for a military equivalent of the B55 and 55 were ordered under the designation T-42A Cochise. By the end of 1984 over 2400 civilian Barons had been delivered. The B55 Baron is powered by twin Continental IO-470L 260HP engines.
